Amazon Prime Videos for Families

In the ever-changing world we live in, it's important to be reminded that God does not change. As believers in the risen Lord Jesus, He has called us to keep our eyes on Him no matter what changes around us. Just as Jesus spoke these words to His disciples, He speaks them to our hearts, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him." (John 14: 1-7)

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." (John 14:27)

With our Sunday School class temporarily suspended, we've come up with a list of resources for families looking to supplement parent-led Bible teaching with God-honoring options to keep families immersed in the truths of God's Word. Feel free to add suggestions for further resources in the comments at the bottom of this page.

Available on Amazon Prime (FREE* videos at time of posting):

From "Revelation Media" (producers of Pilgrim's Progress):

The Animated Bible Series Episode 1: The Creation
The Animated Bible Series Episode 2 - The Flood

The Torchlighters Series (which includes all the following titles):
~ Note that these 30 minute movies are based on the lives of persecuted believers who stood firm on the Word of God even when it meant they could/would lose their lives. They are excellent videos, but deal with sensitive material. As a parent, you may want to watch these first and be prepared to discuss the stories with your children. I'd further recommend that you read missionary biographies/autobiographies to help children understand what the LORD calls us to.

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:12-16)

Adventures In Odyssey

FREE 4-week trial (no credit card required!)

Hands-down, Adventures In Odyssey is our favorite radio program. Even back in college, I remember tuning in to these stories. We are so thankful that Focus on the Family has continued to produce these stories over the years - thought-provoking, funny, sad, creative, thrilling, and focused of the truths of God’s Word. You really could “jump in” anywhere, but it does help to start at the beginning so you have a background on who the characters are. Some characters come and go, but Mr. Whittaker, Eugene, and Connie have been consistent throughout. If you enjoy Eugene, you’ll love Wooton (who appears in later stories).
